{"id":3687,"date":"2016-11-07T20:35:37","date_gmt":"2016-11-08T01:35:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rtoero.ca\/rtoero-foundation-announces-150000-in-new-grants-for-aging-research-and-training\/"},"modified":"2025-09-24T15:11:37","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T19:11:37","slug":"la-fondation-rtoero-annonce-loctroi-de-150-000-en-subventions-pour-la-recherche-et-la-formation-sur-le-vieillissement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ententefoundation.ca\/fr\/la-fondation-rtoero-annonce-loctroi-de-150-000-en-subventions-pour-la-recherche-et-la-formation-sur-le-vieillissement\/","title":{"rendered":"La Fondation RTOERO annonce l\u2019octroi de 150 000 $ en subventions pour la recherche et la formation sur le vieillissement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"intro-body-copy\"><strong>RTOERO a annonc\u00e9 aujourd\u2019hui le financement de cinq nouveaux projets totalisant 150 000 $ en vue de faire progresser la recherche et la formation sur le vieillissement.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Il existe un \u00e9cart tr\u00e8s important entre le nombre de professionnels de la sant\u00e9 et des soins sociaux aptes \u00e0 s\u2019occuper des adultes plus \u00e2g\u00e9s, et le nombre sans cesse croissant de retrait\u00e9s aux prises avec des d\u00e9fis et des besoins uniques \u00bb a fait valoir Joanne Murphy, pr\u00e9sidente du conseil d\u2019administration de la Fondation.<\/p>\n<p>Elle a ajout\u00e9 \u00ab la Fondation RTOERO est l\u2019une des rares au pays \u00e0 miser sur l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de la qualit\u00e9 de vie des adultes plus \u00e2g\u00e9s. Nous sommes donc tr\u00e8s heureux d\u2019\u00eatre en mesure d\u2019appuyer ces projets tr\u00e8s valables dans les communaut\u00e9s ontariennes. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c0 la suite de leur approbation par le comit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9thique, les fonds seront distribu\u00e9s aux r\u00e9cipiendaires suivants :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Le Hamilton Council on Aging afin d\u2019appuyer le projet Hamilton Senior\u2019s Social Isolation, une collaboration entre sept organismes communautaires. Le projet vise \u00e0 r\u00e9duire de fa\u00e7on concr\u00e8te l\u2019isolement social des a\u00een\u00e9s expos\u00e9s \u00e0 des obstacles courants comme la solitude, les handicaps, la barri\u00e8re linguistique, la pauvret\u00e9 et le manque d\u2019acc\u00e8s aux services et aux syst\u00e8mes de soutien.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 L\u2019Universit\u00e9 Ryerson, AGE et l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McMaster, afin d\u2019\u00e9valuer un programme en ligne standardis\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9ducation \u00e0 la d\u00e9mence pour les \u00e9tudiants postsecondaire visant une carri\u00e8re en sant\u00e9. Ce projet veut pr\u00e9parer des \u00e9tudiants \u00e0 aider, sans intervention m\u00e9dicale, des patients atteints de d\u00e9mence et qui d\u00e9montrent des comportements difficiles.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 L\u2019\u00c9cole de m\u00e9decine du Nord de l\u2019Ontario, l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Guelph, l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ottawa ainsi que l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Lakehead, afin d\u2019\u00e9laborer une trousse d\u2019outils pour les professionnels de la sant\u00e9 traitant des adultes plus \u00e2g\u00e9s LGBT (lesbiennes, gais, bisexuels et transgenres) en fin de vie. Ce projet innovateur incorpore \u00e0 la fois la recherche et la formation et profitera aux a\u00een\u00e9s LGBT des communaut\u00e9s urbaines, rurales, et \u00e9loign\u00e9es de l\u2019Ontario.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 L\u2019h\u00f4pital du Mount Sina\u00ef et l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto, afin d\u2019\u00e9valuer un programme d\u2019\u00e9ducation en g\u00e9riatrie pour les r\u00e9sidents en chirurgie orthop\u00e9dique. Cette rotation obligatoire en orthog\u00e9riatrie vise \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer les comp\u00e9tences g\u00e9riatriques des \u00e9tudiants en orthop\u00e9die, afin que les futurs chirurgiens soient mieux en mesure de soigner la population croissante d\u2019adultes plus \u00e2g\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 L\u2019h\u00f4pital Baycrest, l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto, le Manoir Meighen et les Centres Rekai de Sherbourne place et de Wellesley Central Place, afin d\u2019examiner les avantages \u00e0 recourir \u00e0 une stimulation cognitive avec les r\u00e9sidents plus \u00e2g\u00e9s en soins de longue dur\u00e9e, lors des visites amicales des b\u00e9n\u00e9voles. Le projet vise \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer que le recours aux exercices de stimulation cognitive lors des conversations avec les r\u00e9sidents permettra d\u2019am\u00e9liorer les comportements, l\u2019humeur et la qualit\u00e9 de vie.<\/p>\n<p>La Fondation RTOERO a le mandat de favoriser la qualit\u00e9 de vie des adultes plus \u00e2g\u00e9s en finan\u00e7ant la recherche appliqu\u00e9e, la formation postsecondaire en g\u00e9riatrie et en g\u00e9rontologie, ainsi que les initiatives communautaires visant \u00e0 combattre l\u2019isolement des adultes plus \u00e2g\u00e9s. La Fondation fut mise sur pied en 2011 gr\u00e2ce au soutien de son organisme bienfaiteur, The Retired Teachers of Ontario\/les enseignantes et enseignants retrait\u00e9s de l\u2019Ontario. Elle s\u2019inspire de l\u2019esprit de philanthropie de ses membres retrait\u00e9s et des autres intervenants du secteur de l\u2019\u00e9ducation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>En 2015, la Fondation a mis sur pied la Chaire de m\u00e9decine g\u00e9riatrique RTOERO \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto, et continue d\u2019amasser des fonds pour des approches innovatrices visant \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la vie des adultes plus \u00e2g\u00e9s en Ontario et ailleurs au pays. \u00c0 ce jour, la Fondation a investi plus de 2,5 millions de dollars dans la recherche sur le
